A loan of $1,700 helped a member to purchase one sow.

Sumber Usaha Group's story

The Sumber Usaha group is made up of 10 women who are neighbors in the same village in Pejarakan, North Bali. The group is seeking a loan of Rp.15,000,000 and each member will receive Rp.1,500,000. The group was formed out of these women’s common interest in raising pigs to supplement family income, and out of their interest in education on best practices for pig raising. This is their second loan with MUK.

Ni Luh is the head of the group. She will purchase one sow for pig breeding. She hopes that the sow will have many piglets, which she will then be able to raise and sell. With her earnings, she plans to purchase more pigs. With the increase in household income, she hopes to be able to save for her future life.
