A loan of $4,425 helped a member to buy footwear for later sale.

Kuña Marangatu Group's story

This communal bank, called Kuña Marangatu, came about through contact with one of the ladies of the Fundacion. Currently it consists of 15 women. It is in its 20th loan cycle with the program and they have worked with the Fundacion since 2006.

Alba is one of the members of the group. She sells all types of footwear. This work allows her to get ahead on a daily basis and take care of her family and those that depend on her. She tells us that she is doing very well and so would like to continue running the business. She considers herself to be a very hardworking, enterprising and determined woman.

She is asking for the loan to buy footwear with which to have a wider variety of products to offer her customers. She is thankful to the Fundacion and Kiva for the opportunity given her.
