A loan of $1,675 helped a member to repair her refrigerator.

Valentia Y Esfuerzo Group's story

Norma has been selling all sorts of fast food for almost 30 years now. Her delicious corn tamales, ‘polladas’ [type of chicken stew] and also some cakes she makes are highly sought after by people who consume her products. Weekends are the days her sales are highest for her because she has more customers come through her business.

Norma has always enjoyed working. Often she worked in secret because her husband didn’t like the idea. Currently it’s with her work that she’s able to help him since he’s in poor health and she must cover household expenses. She’d like to open a restaurant soon to sell what she prepares and proviD. comfort for her customers. She has her daughter’s help for this.

She wants to use her loan to repair her refrigerator to start selling gelatin and ice-cream in the summer that’s approaching. On the other hand, she’s happy to be part of the “Valentía y Esfuerzo” group where she has the office of President. The group has seven members.
