Rigail Ramiro's story

Rigail Ramiro is 26 years old. He is married with one son, aged two years old, and lives with his wife and son in Ventanas canton, in the province of Los Ríos. The NUEVA UNIÓN communal bank is located in the Guamayacu precinct, which is part of Echeandía province. This communal bank focuses on short-cycle agriculture, specifically corn, rice and beans. Rigail works in agriculture planting corn, rice, and beans. He makes his purchases and sales in Echeandía . With the money from his previous loan, he was able to purchase seeds and agricultural supplies such as urea, Matamonte brand herbicide, fertilizers and weedkiller, in order to keep his crops in good condition. His family relationships have improved because now he is able to bring in a little more for his family's well-being. His work is going much better, because he has increased his production and his income has improved greatly too, because now he earns more income from his products. He has been able to succeed with the help of his previous loan, and he had no problems in making his scheduled repayments to the cooperative. This new loan will be very helpful, because he will use it to purchase seeds, cocoa plants, and agricultural supplies such as urea, Matamonte brand herbicide, fertilizers, and weedkiller to keep his crops in good condition. The challenges that he faces most often are the competition and insect infestations. His dream is to continue working so that he can buy a house for his family. In his free time he enjoys watching TV and playing sports, especially football. "He is very grateful for the support being provided".
