A loan of $825 helped to buy building materials to build an industrial kitchen.

Ma Aurelia's story

María Aurelia is separated and has shown herself to be a strong and tenacious woman who despite the world economic situation has known how to get ahead with her 3 children. She started her business selling gorditas (stuffed corn cakes) 4 years ago. Señora María Aurelia tells us that she started out with 2 kilos of flour and little by little grew the business into what is now called by customers "Gorditas de la Quince" ("The Fat Ones of Number 15")which in reality is not its offical name, as the business is located on a street of that name. She has prospered so much that she has even been able to build her own house and a place to use as a restaurant. However, currently she wants the loan to start building the kitchen close to the restaurant as she is till making the food, stews and the gorditas, in her own kitchen at home which hampers her as she has to walk to the cart where her daughter prepares the food. To realize her project, she needs to buy cement, sand, rods and pay the builder.
