A loan of $775 helped to buy commercial products (peanuts, rice, juice, soft drinks, wines, etc.).

Emerciana's story

Emerciana was born in the city of Maputo, in the province of the same name in southern Mozambique. She is married and has three children, all of whom go to school. She went to school through the seventh grade but had to drop out because of financial difficulties. She lives with her family in a home they own, and isn't financially responsible for anyone else.

She and her family left Maputo for Boane when she was still very young. She's had a shop for more than four years and earns about 11,000 meticals a month. She uses her earnings for household expenses and is able to save some in her bank account.
She has never had loans from other banks. She learned about Hluvuku from friends who are also clients of the institution. This is her first loan with Hluvuku, in the amount of 20,000 meticals, which she will use to buy commercial products (peanuts, rice, juice, soft drinks, wines, etc.) to increase the quantity of merchandise she carries.
She intends to request more loans from Hluvuku to keep her business strong and build a larger house.
