A loan of $1,150 helped to purchase construction materials (iron, sand, rebar, sheet metal, etc.).

Enoque's story

Enoque was born in the district of Chibuto, in the province of Gaza in southern Mozambique. He is married and has four children, all of whom attend school. He went to school through the sixth grade but had to drop out because of financial difficulties. He lives in his own home with his family and also supports his mother financially, sending her money to help with her expenses.

He left Chibuto for Boane in search of a better life. He's worked as an auto electrician at Super Steel for more than two years and earns a salary of 12,000 meticals a month. He uses his salary to pay for household expenses and also saves some in his bank account (BIM).
He has never had loans from other banks. He learned about Hluvuku from a friend who is also a client of the institution. This is his fifth loan, in the amount of 30,000 meticals, which he will use to purchase construction materials (iron, sand, rebar, sheet metal, etc.) to continue the construction on his house. His first loans, in the amounts of 10,000, 12,000, and 15,000, and 20,000 meticals, were all also used for his home.
He hopes to finish the house to offer his family a more comfortable life. In the future he would like to build a grocery store for his wife, for which he will request further loans from Hluvuku.
