Alimaa's story

Alimaa is 60 years old and lives with her husband and child in a ger (tent like structure), in Huvsgul province, Mongolia. Her husband is in the agriculture business and her child goes to college.

Before retiring, Alimaa was an accountant. Now she owns a vegetable trading business, started in 2000. She also operates a tailoring business. She mostly sews souvenir for tourists, like felt crafts, traditional clothes and shoes. She has two tailors. Alimaa is also a part time craft consultant.

Alimaa is a sharp and hard working woman who says, "I love my job and it makes me feel young again." She is requesting 2,000,000 MNT to buy materials to make shoes and Mongolian traditional clothes.
