A loan of $2,050 helped a member to buy rabbits and to make pens.

2K Suma Ampara Group's story

The 2K Suma Ampara Community Bank will begin its first loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Centro Cascada. The group is comprised of eight members led by a Board of Directors headed by Sra. Justa. The members of the association run a variety of businesses such as raising and selling rabbits, making ponchos, embroidery, making jackets, macrame, textile workshop, and running a corner store.

This is the first time that Sra. Justa has worked with Pro Mujer and she was invited to join by the promotor. She has a business raising and selling rabbits, something she’s been doing for many years.

The loan that Justa is seeking will be used to buy rabbits and to make pens for them. She plans to buy them at the 16 de Julio Market and raise them in her house. The income will allow her to support her family; she is married and has five children.

Justa really likes the information about savings and health that she gets from Pro Mujer.
