Natalya's story

Natalya and her husband with two children live in the small village of Velikaya Znamenka. She is a farmer-entrepreneur, she grows early vegetables such as tomatoes, radish, cabbage and peppers. Natalya owns two large plots of land totaling 1 hectare. She has three large and 30 small greenhouses. Natalya has been growing vegetables for fourteen years. She has 200,000 hryvna invested in her business. The yearly expense on film is 51,000 hryvna.

Natalya plans to invest the loan from Kiva in the amount of 15,000 hryvna to install heating equipment in two large greenhouses and also buy film. This will allow to her to plant tomatoes earlier and then sell them at a more profitable price. The tomatoes will have less disease in warmth and the harvest will be of better quality which will help Natalya receive a good profit in the next season. She has a lot of land so there's room for growth. In the future her family plans to use the profit to build an addition to the house and expand the dwelling space.
