A loan of $925 helped to buy tables and other supplies for her food-sales business.

Rosalva Virginia's story

Sra. Rosalva, 27, is a member of the Las Divinas del Distrito de Calleria in the Peruvian "departamento" of Ucayali. She is married and has 2 children. She has supported her business with loans from Manuela Ramos for the past four years. She operates a food-sales business on Sundays. Her house is near a place where many people gather on Sundays for local cockfights. She will use this loan, for S/.2,500 new soles to buy: 2 tables, disposable plates and cutlery and other supplies that she needs for the business. Sra. Rosalva plans to ask for other loans later that she will use to support the business. Her husband is a mechanic and provides for everyday family expenses. Her business provides her with an income of her own and pays for other family expenses.
