Cornelio's story

Cornelio, 29, is a loving father. He lives in Huaytacorral with Alicia, his wife of five years. They have two children: Elmer and Brayan who they raise in their own house. In the community of Acostambo where Cornelio lives everyone farms. While still young he acquired 7 hectares of farmland that belong to the townsfolk. With it he was able to start planting maca root and potatoes in large amounts. He has 7 years’ experience selling crops and according to him he does very well at each 8 month harvest. Merchants in the city of Huancayo buy his mature foodstuffs. But what he likes best is washing the mature maca root in the Canchas River where buyers offer the highest price for the product. Now, he wants to amass enough capital so that each year he will have more production. He belongs to the “Los Ángeles” communal bank and this is the first loan with MFP where he’s grateful for the opportunity to progress they offer. He promises to be punctual with his installment payments. If Cornelio were to receive your support he will invest the money in the purchase of 8 kilograms of maca root seed and to pay labor costs for the staff that will till the soil for the next planting.
