A loan of $625 helped to buy more pigs for butchering.

Florentina's story

Sra. Florentina is 44 years old and married to Sr. Aurelio. They have two daughters, Rubí and Johana, who are in the first year of high school and in sixth grade respectively. Florentina has been butchering pigs and selling the meat for three years.

She says that she decided to start this business as a way of helping her daughters to get ahead, offering them a better quality of life and better financial stability, and supporting them with their studies. The loan she received will be invested in the purchase of more pigs. The goal of Doña Flor (as she is known in her community) is to grow her business more. What she wants most is to open a butcher shop so that she can offer more variety and improve her income. This would allow her to support her daughters with their professional studies.

Florentina says, “I express my deepest thanks to FRAC and the Kiva lenders for trusting me and providing me all of their support.”
