A loan of $625 helped to buy more meat and chorizo.

Lucia's story

Sra. Lucia is 35 years old and married to Sr. Refugio. They have three children: Adilene, Eder, and Cenaido. They are in the second year of preparatory school, the third year of secondary school, and the first year of elementary school respectively. Lucia has been selling beef for 10 years.

She says that she started this small business because she was looking for a way to support her husband and children and to help a little bit with the expenses so that they can have a better quality of life. The loan she will receive will be invested in more meat and chorizo so that she can be well-stocked.

Lucia is convinced that she can accomplish one of her dreams, which is to grow her business even more. She wants to build a structure where she can establish her butcher shop. This will allow her to carry more inventory and offer a wider variety of products, as well as help her to increase and improve her income.

Doña Lucia says that she is very grateful to the Kiva lenders for the overwhelming support they have provided because everything is based on trust. With their help, she will be able to improve her business and her family’s life.
