A loan of $450 helped to buy roofing tile and metal sheeting for his house.

José Leonel's story

Leonel, 26, is married and has two children. He’s spent his entire life farming corn, beans and sorghum. His father taught him how to work the soil since they are humble, responsible people with good values and principles. In order to buy his farming supplies he must travel from his community to the city on an 18 kilometer bus trip.

Leonel is asking Fundación Campo for a loan to buy roofing tile and metal sheeting to improve his house because during the rainy season his house gets wet and they have problems. This way he will be able to provide his family with more safety so that they will feel good and be able to live more peacefully.

Leonel intends in a few years to build his house out of adobe because it’s currently made of “bahareque” (sticks interlaced with mud) and he wants to give his family a better quality of life.
