Marvin Antonio
Marvin, 41, has worked as a director for the city government's environmental department for the last seven years. He needs his fifth loan to make improvements to his plot of land to provide better conditions to his customers. He’s very well known in his community because of his good social relationships and for the work he does. His spouse, who works as a teacher, supports his efforts. They have a stable family composed of their two children and his greatest wish is to raise them and teach them how to work so that they will be upstanding citizens in the future and to pass down to them conditions and tools to work.

About Housing Loans

Many poor families cannot afford housing that meets their needs. When you make a housing loan on Kiva, you give people access to flexible capital to obtain or improve their homes. Better housing means better health, sanitation, and even educational outcomes for children. A house can also be much more for entrepreneurs who run businesses out of their homes. In this way, housing and small business loans on Kiva share a common purpose: to alleviate poverty and enable families to enjoy more stable lives.
