A loan of $2,000 helped a member to buy dried fish, milk, coffee and oysters.

Kawral Group's story

This solidarity group was created on May 8, 2001. It is composed of eleven women who reside in the same district. Their main business is retail.

Mrs. Maimouna, who is to the right in the picture with her hand raised, is the group's leader. She is 47 years old. She is married and a mother of three. Another child was also left in her care by her brother.

She is active in the retail of dried fish, milk, coffee and oysters. She is quite experienced in this business, in which she has been involved for over ten years.

This loan will allow her to strengthen her working capital and to better grow her business. The profit will enable her to improve her family's living conditions (health, food, clothing, etc.) and to increase her savings.
