A loan of $4,000 helped a member to buy more fish for stock.

Vakundi Group's story

Isaac is 24 years old and he and his wife sell matemba (a small dried fish) in the local market. They have one child – a baby of seven months. They also look after two further dependants. They have been in business for two years and their main problem is not having enough stock to meet local demand. They will use the money they borrow to buy more stock. They are confident that there is sufficient demand. Isaac will use the profits to take better care of his family. He also intends to diversify into rearing poultry.
