Beka's story

Beka is from the village Geguti, West Georgia. He is 24 years old, unmarried and lives with his parents.

The only source of income for the family is agricultural business. In particular, they own 2 greenhouses, where greens, cucumbers and tomatoes are grown. In the period of October – May the greenhouses are used for growing greens and in the summer months they are utilized for vegetable (cucumber and tomato) growing. Harvested greens are sold to local wholesalers. As for vegetables, Beka sells them on the local open market himself. Total average monthly income of the family is 950 GEL (approximately 575 USD).

Beka requested credit to purchase polyethylene material for covering existing iron construction and use it as the third greenhouse. Beka will be able to grow more greens and vegetables and increase the income of the family. They will be able to purchase needed household goods and improve their living conditions.
