Missimide Group's story

Missimide Group is made up of eleven people. It is represented by Bertille, who is pictured raising her hand. The group members live in the same village in Benin. In order to increase their working capital the group members came for the second time to the microfinance institution Alidé and applied for a loan. Bertille is 39 years old and married to Michel, a retailer. They have three children, all in their care, with two of them attending school. Bertille herself never went to school. In order to provide for her needs and those of her family, Bertille sells corn and cassava flour. In addition, she sells various products and chickens. Bertille has been in this activity for nearly 20 years, which enables her to provide with her husband for household expenses. Bertille gets her supplies in a city in Benin. This second loan will for sure enable Bertille and the other members of Missimide Group to raise their activity level, expand their clientele and increase their income. Their first loan has been paid off on schedule.
