A loan of $450 helped to purchase sacks of compost and to hire workers.

Gilberto's story

Gilberto, age 38, is a responsible and hardworking gentleman. He is single and lives with his nephew in his own home. Every day he engages in multiple activities in order to improve his quality of life. Gilberto’s work consists of cultivating and harvesting palm oil. He has been in this line of work for four years. Gilberto leaves early every day for his farm where he monitors the growth of his crops and maintains them by clearing out any harmful weeds. His work is important because it allows him to maintain his household and support his nephew, who occasionally does work around the farm. Whenever there is great demand for his product, Gilberto hires laborers in order to accelerate the completion of the work. What he enjoys about his job is having the time to pursue a few other activities. Like other farmers, Gilberto is doing well because he is able to sell his products at a good price.

This will be his sixth loan with MFP. Gilberto hopes to receive everyone’s support so that he can continue working. The loan of 1200 PEN that he requested will be used to buy sacks of compost for his palm tree plantation. In addition, he will hire laborers to help clear his farm.
