A loan of $1,825 helped to purchase feed for domestic animals.

Janat's story

Janat is from the village of Kharataklia, Gardabani district, East Georgia. Janat is 55 years old, married and lives with her family: husband – Muradkhan, 28 year-old-son, daughter-in-law and 2 grandsons (2 and 3 years old).

Janat and Muradkhan are the income providers in the family. They run a family agricultural business. They have 2 milk cows, 8 calves and 25 sheep. Janat produces cheese and sells it locally. Domestic animals (lambs, calves) are also sold locally. Her son is temporarily unemployed; her daughter-in-law is a housewife.

Janat requested credit to purchase feed for domestic animals for the winter months. She will feed them well during the winter months and will get good quality dairy products. Also, in spring she will sell lambs and some of the calves. After selling dairy products and domestic animals for a good price the family will make a profit which will be used for the family well-being. Janat will also reinvest part of the profit in the family farm to expand it.
