A loan of $550 helped to buy children's clothing, t-shirts, blouses, and pants.

Jessica De La Nube's story

Jessica is a member of the "Ensueños" communal bank, and lives in the central area of the city of Azogues. This city is the capital of Cañar province, and is considered part of the architectural and cultural heritage of Ecuador. Its people are friendly, kind, and warm. They maintain their culture and traditions, and have a varied cuisine.

Jessica is 29, married, and has two children, ages 12 and 4. Her eldest son goes to a secondary school in the city, and her second son is in pre-school. Her husband is a shopkeeper. They don't have their own house, so they rent.

Jessica works in her own boutique, and what she mainly sells is children's clothing. She has had the business for five years, and works Mondays through Saturdays, from 9:00am to 7:00pm. She has been in the communal bank for two years.

She is going to use her new loan to buy children's clothing, t-shirts, blouses, and pants to stock her merchandise. Her goal is to have her own house.
