A loan of $750 helped to buy more balanced feed and to buy food products to stock her store.

Maria Alcira's story

María, age 41, lives in her own house with her husband and her children. The house, which does not have basic services, is located in the Sullana district in the Piura department. This zone is known for its agriculture, its livestock, and its handicrafts.

María has been raising and selling farmyard animals (sheep and poultry) for three years. She has suitable pens for her animals, and she feeds them balanced feed, fodder, and natural grains to fatten them. Then she will be able to sell them to her customers for a good price. This way she will get the income needed to pay for the family’s necessities.

She also has a small store where she sells daily consumption products to her customers. This allows her to have another income for her house.

Upon observing that her business is more prosperous each day, María has believed it necessary to request a loan for 2,000 soles from Edpyme Alternativa. The loan is to buy more balanced feed and merchandise to stock her store.

When her animals are well-fed she will have greater sales. With the income from both of her business activities she will be able to cover the loan she was granted. She will also be able to improve her family’s quality of life and offer them other opportunities.
