Tabacco Sellers Group's story

Meet with members of the “Tabacco Sellers” group from Kenema, a city in eastern Sierra Leone. They are all local entrepreneurs who have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva to apply for a loan of 500,000 SLL for each. With the help of this loan they will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and consequently improve on their living conditions.

Abdul is the leader of this group. The 37-year-old is married to a businesswoman and they have 2 children – 1 in primary school and 1 in secondary. Abdul has been a businessman for many years now, he sells used clothes. With his share of this loan, he will buy a bale of used clothes to add to his business.
