A loan of $1,100 helped to buy needed parts, spare parts and automobile oil.

Joselito Victor's story

El Banco Comunal Caminantes de Cristo gets together twice a month in the outskirts of Portoviejo in the sector known as Las Piedras. This place is known because it is very near some rock quarries, and this is where it gets its name.

In this place we meet Joselito. He is 42 years old, married and has three daughters. Two are adults and one is 10 years old. They attend university and school. His wife is a dressmaker.

He is an auto mechanic and he has a workshop at his home where he fixes all types of cars, all makes and models. He also sells spare parts which earns him extra money. He works Monday through Saturday, and only works on Sunday if he has deliveries to make because he likes to rest if only for one day. He has had his shop for 19 years and he has never been out of work.

With this loan he will buy necessary and spare parts, and automobile oil. He has been with the communal bank for 2 years and he likes it because the interest is lower than in other places.

His dream is that his daughters become good professionals.
