A loan of $1,100 helped to purchase cacao plants, as well as to purchase products to start his new store.

Antonio's story

Antonio is 40 years old. He is a very hard-working man. He lives in his own house with his wife Celedonia, 37 years old, and their two minor children, Jaime and Yorela, to whom he wants to bring a better quality of life. From the time he was very young, Antonio has grown cacao and coffee. He is knowledgeable about agriculture, and his crops are well-cared for, since he knows that his family's income depends on this activity. What he likes most about his job is planting the fields. He does it with great effort, and above all with spirit, in order to get a good harvest. He has been doing this for 30 years, and he thinks the most difficult thing is to have to fumigate his crops to avoid plagues of insects that damage his plants. With time, he wants to open a business and buy more cacao plants in order to increase his production. This will be his sixteenth loan with MFP. He knows that this support will help him in the progress of his business. Antonio feels very happy because he works in his communal bank, and he knows he must be responsible with the payments. With the 3,000 nuevos soles he is asking for, he will purchase cacao plants and grocery items such as sugar, rice, preserves, etc., for his new business.
