A loan of $550 helped to stock her grocery store with food like basic grains, dairy products, and soft drinks.

Maria Santos's story

María, age 34, lives in the Las Flores de Naco community in the Santa Barbara department. There are three children in her family. The oldest is 19 years old, the middle child is a 14 year old daughter, and the youngest son is 10 years old. Her husband is a day laborer, and he extracts sand and gravel.

She started her business approximately a year and a half ago. She sells basic foodstuffs for the family, cleaning products, sweets, and soft drinks.

Upon getting her first loan she plans to stock her business more. This will allow her to increase sales and improve the family income. That way she will achieve financial growth.
