A loan of $375 helped to buy banana plants.

Armando's story

Armando, 40, is a cheerful, hardworking man. He’s married to Teodosia, 38, and they have three children. They live together in their own house located in Samugari District.

Armando’s continuous days of work in the fields have made him a very knowledgeable farmer. His cocoa bean, manioc and banana plants are well cared for and he always gets good sale prices for them in the city’s various gathering centers. He’s been in this line of work for 20 years and when he has to do weeding or harvesting his family members are his greatest helpers. What he most enjoys about his work is farming bananas because it’s the fruit that generates the highest profits and harvesting occurs monthly. However, what’s difficult is transporting them from his field to the community, a walk that takes an hour. In time, he hopes to buy his own motorcycle to transport the fruit.

This will be his first loan and he’s very happy to know that he will have support from all of you because he’ll feel secure that he'll make progress with his planned project that way. He will use the requested funds to buy more banana plants because he has enough space available for them to grow.
