A loan of $1,100 helped to purchase fertilizer and hire laborers.

Yolanda's story

Yolanda, 47, is a happy and self-sacrificing woman. She has a son, but she lives alone in her own house, located in the town of Huaracayo. Her years of dedication and service to her son taught her that there is no better reward in life than seeing others succeed.

She has ten years of experience in farming. Her main crops are corn and peas. After caring for them and fertilizing them, she brings them to the central market in the capital, where she sells them wholesale. She makes this trip twice a week to sell her crops, and she also takes advantage of this time by visiting her son who studies at the university. Now, she wants to open a small hardware store in the central area of the city of Tarma because she knows that she is not as strong as she used to be. She feels alone and wants to be close to her son to advise him and support him when he needs it.

She is a member of the community bank "Vamos al futuro huracaino" and this is her third loan with MFP. She is very happy to be a member of this group because it is very respected in her community. She promises to be on time with her payments. Yolanda will use this loan to purchase natural fertilizers and pay laborers who will help her with her next corn harvest.
