Moriba S.'s Group's story

Salone Microfinance Trust (SMT) is very pleased to present to you this group of teachers from one of the institutions in Kenema, a city in eastern Sierra Leone. This group of teachers has come to Kiva partner SMT, based in Makeni, Northern Sierra Leone, to seek a loan of 20,000,000 SLL in order to meet their immediate financial challenges. At the end of each month, they will repay SMT/Kiva lenders, using their monthly salaries. Their school’s bursar is directly responsible for deducting the repayments and pays SMT/Kiva lender on their behalf.

Moriba is the leader of this group. The 39-year-old was born in Kenema, married and has 4 children who are attending primary school. Moriba has been a teacher for 15 years now. He has requested this loan in order to educate his children. He will use the loan to pay school fees for his children.
