A loan of $3,800 helped a member to buy vegetables for resale.

Camp De Garde / Kambeng Group's story

The Kambeng group was created in November 2006, the day of the inauguration of the "banc villageois". It is composed of 26 women who all live in the same neighborhood. They all have small-scale retailing as a principle activity.

Madame Aissatou (standing, third from left to right) is the leader of the group. She is 36, married, and the mother of three children. She sells vegetables as she has been doing for more than three years now. With this loan she intends to buy vegetables for resale.

The profit from her business will permit her to put aside savings and to help her husband pay the school fees for their children as well as daily expenses.
