A loan of $550 helped to buy products for daily use to stock his store.

Jorge Eduardo's story

Jorge is 60 years old and lives with his family in their own home, which has only water and electricity services. It is located in the Paijan District in the department of La Libertad in Peru. This area is characterized by agriculture and livestock.

For several years, Jorge has sold items used daily, such as milk, rice, oil, sugar, toilet paper, tuna and beverages. His business is located in his home for convenience and security reasons. He tries to cover his expenses and improve his family's quality of life with earnings from product sales.

Through Kiva partner Edpyme Alternativa, Jorge has requested a loan of 1500 soles ($550) to expand his store. He wants to buy more merchandise including products that are basic necessities, with the idea that his business will grow and he will have more items to offer his clients. Earnings will cover his loan and domestic financial obligations. Jorge is a responsible, dedicated and hard-working person who would like to be able to provide his family with more comforts.
