She tells us that a little over 2 and a half years ago she decided to start her own grocery selling business because she wanted to move her children who were going to school ahead and help her husband with household expenses; she tells us that the economic situation our country is in is more difficult every day.

Hipólita tell us that she decided to rent a locale in her community where she’s set up two sets of shelving where she arranges her merchandise and that’s where she conducts her sales. She says that, thanks to God, she does very well and that her customers always find what they are looking for. She is satisfied because the number of her customers grows daily.

She needs this investment to buy oil, powdered detergent, bath soap, detergent, chlorine bleach, sugar, beans, canned goods, soft-drinks, juice, candy, Sabritas brand snacks, olives, cookies and cream to resell.

In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
