A loan of $550 helped to purchase coffee seedlings for starting a nursery.

Raul's story

Raúl is 43 years old and lives with his wife Delia. They have a child named Ruger. The three of them live in their own home in the community of Sanchirio El Palomar, which is in the central Peruvian jungle. This hardworking gentleman mentioned that a short time ago he decided to invest in the planting of more coffee crops. Raúl has been farming for five years. His main products consist of coffee, bananas, and corn. He conducts his business at the city market. As mentioned before, his coffee crops are about to be sold since it has taken three years to grow and bear fruit. “It has been too long,” says Raúl. He is comforted by the fact that his new plants have reached an excellent point in their growth. This assurance from his projects is quite amazing. Now he wants to invest in more banana plants, so his plans are to acquire more farmland so that he can increase production and generate more revenue. It only takes 15 days for banana plants to bear fruit, so he will be able to boost his sales.

Raúl is a member of the Communal Bank “Buenos Aires” and this will be his fourth loan with MFP. He serves as president of the association and is happy to direct and support the other members. For this reason, he promises to be prompt with his payments and set a responsible example. With the support he received, Raúl will invest the money he requested in the purchase of coffee seedlings so that he can start a nursery and prepare for next year’s harvest.
