A loan of $550 helped to buy cosmetics, and women's accessories to sell.

Naida Esther's story

Naida is 71 years old. She sells varied merchandise. She is married and has 6 children ranging in age from 40 to 50 years old. At first she sold soft drinks and beer but gradually her working capital has increased with the support of 6 loans she has taken out with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With them, she has been able to convert her business into a variety store with display cases full of different things. At present, she is preparing for her first Kiva loan with which she will buy cosmetics, and women's accessories to sell. At the end of this year there are going to be a lot of deals from suppliers and she wants to take advantage of that. Her customers are also going to begin to have their bonuses on hand and will buy in greater volume. Her dream is to continue progressing and have a lot of satisfying experiences. She finds these in the work she does, since her children are grown and independent.
