A loan of $1,000 helped to buy seafood to sell at her place.

Candida Del Socorro's story

Candida, age 45, is a humble merchant from the city of León, and she has three children. She sells seafood at the market at the León bus terminal. She started this business when she was very young. She learned from her parents who used to sell. She continued on selling fish, and she has been in this business for 27 years.

Two of her minor children help her tend the business in the afternoons. In the mornings they go to school. This way, between scales and ice, she has gotten her business and her household ahead day by day.

She needs the loan to buy seafood to sell at her place. The season for good seafood sales is approaching. She struggles every day in order to give her family the best. She wants to make some improvements to her place. She will do this in order to have a greater capacity and conditions to store and sell seafood.
