A loan of $725 helped to buy a large quantity of chickens to sell.

Maria Esther's story

Maria is a single mother who has one daughter. Her daughter is 11 years old and goes to school. Maria has shown over the years that she has been able to get ahead in spite of the challenges of not having a husband or father for her daughter. She has a business selling chickens. She started selling to 3 friends, and later, with a bit of effort, started to sell more. Currently she has more than 30 customers, to whom she delivers fresh chickens that are ready to be cooked and sold. Maria wants to invest this Kiva loan in her business to make it grow by purchasing more chickens and having more customers. Maria dreams of providing her daughter with a quality education so that in the future she can become an accomplished professional. She also wants in the future for her business to have its own stall in the busiest market where she could sell more. This way she could increase her sales so that her quality of life would be much better. She is very grateful for the loan that is being granted.
