A loan of $550 helped to buy farmin supplies.

Pedro Victorino's story

Pedro, 64, is from Quezalguaque, León. He’s the father of three children. He’s a guava (tropical fruit), soursop and basic grains farmer. He used to just farm basic grains but 8 years ago decided to plant fruit like guava and soursop. He started this project when he was 56 years old and noted that it was more profitable to work in this type of crop so he launched the project and now it’s part of his plantation and business which is his source of support. However, he also sells milk and basic grains in order to have other income when crop season is low.

He’s asking for the loan for crop maintenance, to buy supplies and fertilizer for the guava plants. The loan will help him provide better agronomic management for improved crop quality. His future plans are to become a producer of Jamaican-type guavas and his next goal is to double the size of his crops.
