Her residence is located in the Parrish named "Chillogallo", a populous sector in the capital that is traditional and picturesque.

Rosa sells coffee with "empanadas de viento", cheese and onion pastries, and "bolones de verde" , green plantain dumplings stuffed with cheese. They are delicious snacks which are traditional in Ecuador. She sells in a market in the Parrish where she lives. She learned this business from her mother. She works up to 13 hours per day and during her spare time she takes care of the house work. She tells us that in the beginning it was not easy to work in this business because the city police would move people like Rosa who would be selling their products without municipal permits. But things have changed and she is well situated now and she has the permits that she needs to her business.

This hardworking woman wants to fix her house and it is the reason why she has approached Fundacion Alternativa (Kiva Field Partner). She requests a loan so that her children will have a more dignified home in which to live.
