Margaret's story

Margaret lives in Kampala, Uganda. She is married with 7 children, all of whom go to school. She takes care of one additional family member (sister-in- law). She sells charcoal at her home counter at the shop that she rents. She works seven days a week. She has been in business for the past 10 years. She has requested a loan of 1,500,000 from MCDT SACCO to buy more bags of charcoal. Her major business challenges include transportation and ever-increasing prices of charcoal. Her goal and aspiration is to expand her retail charcoal business into a wholesale one. She lives in a rented house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees, paying utility bills, and rent.
