A loan of $675 helped to buy livestock.

Silvia María's story

Silvia is a member of the 14 de Agosto Communal Bank. She lives in the community of Zhidmad, a place that has abundant vegetation and a cold climate. The majority of the people work in agriculture or raising animals. The people there are very agreeable and kind, and they maintain the culture and traditions of their parents.

Silvia is 53 years old and married, and from this relationship has conceived five children, who are of legal age. Two of her children are married and living on their own, and her single children work only to pay their personal expenses. Her husband works as a sawyer (woodcutter).

Silvia works in the home, in agriculture for her own consumption, and also raises and sells animals. She has sheep, pigs, guinea pigs, chickens, and livestock.

This is her second loan from the communal bank and she's going to invest it in buying livestock.

Her goal is to have more animals.
