A loan of $900 helped to purchase more food items.

Margret's story

Margret is 49 years old and lives in the town of Maganjo in the Luweero region of Uganda. She is married and has 6 children. For the past 4 years, Margret has been working hard to manage her mini-supermarket, which sells food supplies to local customers.

To help expand her business, Margret has requested a loan of 2,500,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more food items, and will help Margret to generate greater profits and improve the standards of living for her family. Margret hopes that in the future she will be able to build another supermarket in town.

Margret is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Margret who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
