A loan of $1,100 helped to hire workers.

Domitila's story

Domitila, 27, lives with her common-law husband, Dionicio, 36, and their three children. They live in their own house in the district of Pichari. From a very early age Domitila has been involved in agriculture, specifically in growing cocoa, coffee and citrus fruits. She learned her trade from her parents. Her husband helps her with the work or it would be impossible to produce cocoa, coffee and fruit in large quantities, as is required for the domestic and international markets. She tells us that she also must seek out the latest agrarian techniques so her products are top quality to make a good profit. She is very pleased with the work she does because this way she can cover the daily household expenses. This is her second loan through MFP and she is committed to paying it back on time. She plans to use the 3,000 PEN to hire workers to help care for, prune and fertilize the crops.
