A loan of $725 helped to buy shovels, pick axes, and machetes.

Maria's story

María is a native of the city of Palma. She is 51 years old, married, and the mother of four school-age children. They live together in their own home. María is a responsible and decisive woman whose work consists of planting cacao and annatto. These products are in high demand at the collection centers in her city. Her buyers know that her products are of good quality, so she is able to generate good earnings from her business. María started farming when she was 20 years old and continues to plant crops and care for her land by making it more fertile. She says that if her business did not exist, she would not able to pay for the educational expenses of her children nor would she be able to buy furnishings for her home. In the future, María hopes to continue saving because she wants to buy a new house in Ayacucho, which will be of great use to her children so that they can finish their college studies in the city.

This will be her second loan. María is very pleased to know that she has renewed support. The amount she requested will be used to buy shovels, pick axes, and machetes. These tools will be used for the planting season.
