Maria Teresa
Sra. María Teresa is 23 years old and has been in a relationship for two years with the father of their two-year-old son. They live at her parents’ house and only pay for electricity and water. María Teresa resides in the community of Chomoco, which is 47 km from the city of Cochabamba. She produces knitted garments (hats, sweaters, jackets, baby clothes, and other items) but she does not have a knitting machine. María Teresa rents equipment from her older sister in order to conduct her business. She went to the banks in the city to acquire money to buy a knitting machine, but there were too many requirements.

María Teresa is very pleased with the loan she was granted because she will have a knitting machine of her own, thus allowing her to produce clothes more comfortably. As a result, she will increase her income and be able to save toward the purchase of a plot of land. Her greatest wish is to have a house of her own.
