A loan of $950 helped a member to buy fish and shrimp for resale.

Menontin Group's story

The MENONTIN group consists of three members. Their representative is Séraphine, seen with her hand raised in the photo. She is 48 years old and lives in Benin. She is married to a fisherman named Nathanaël, and the couple has six children, four of them still in their care. Some of the children have attended school. Séraphine herself never went to school. She and her husband live together with their children. To support herself and her family, Séraphine sells fish and shrimp. Her stock comes from one of Benin’s lakes. In an effort to bolster their activities and better meet customer demand, Menontin is seeking financial support from ALIDé. Séraphine and the other group members are requesting a fifth loan. All previous loans were repaid without incident.
