Mukan's story

Mukan is a 51 year old farmer, married and has two children. After the fall of the Soviet Union Mukan started a livestock business and has been running it successfully for more then 20 years. Profits from his business allowed him to build a better barn for his animals and help his sons start their own households. Currently Mukan owns a cow, a calf, a horse, 10 sheep, 10 lambs and 5 goats, and his business yields a monthly profit of 17,000 som (KGS). To further enlarge his herd, Mukan has turned to "Bai-Tushum and partners" for a loan of 106,000 som (KGS) to purchase additional heads of cattle. Profits from his expanded business Mukan is planning to use for repairs of his house.
