Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,000 helped a member to purchase hosiery to sell.

Aizat's Group's story

Aizat is the treasurer of this group. She is 26 and married to a driver, whose monthly salary is 13,000 soms. Together with her husband, she brings up two children, both of whom are preschool age (under seven). At the moment, Aizat has saved 55,000 soms. She is applying for the loan because she needs some additional funds to purchase hosiery to start a trade in the local market. In the future with the profits gained from the trade she plans to purchase a container (shipping container converted to a home or market stall).
