Virgen Guadalupe Group's story

Señora Narley was born in the Huallabamba district in Urubamba province in the department of Cusco, and she lives in the community of Hycho in Huallabamba district. (The member is raising her hand in the photograph).

Señora Narley is 24 years old and lives in a common law relationship from which she has a child. She is a hard-working woman, who is responsible and moves her family ahead in life. She works selling vegetables; she used to sell in Urubamba market, but now she sells in the Pompas market in Hycho as a street vendor. On this occasion, Narley wants the loan to buy more vegetables.

The members of the "Virgen Guadalupe” communal bank meet every month in the community of Hycho. The communal bank is maD. up of people who are hard-working and entrepreneurial. They are continually looking for opportunities to move ahead in life and through their daily efforts to deliver a better future for their children. The majority of the members live in the community of Hycho, and the economic activities of the other members incluD. selling corn, selling vegetables, selling food, selling cereals, selling clothes, and others who proviD. various services.

Cusco is well-known for being an area with much tourism and commerce, for its traditional Inti Raymi festival, and because it's the location of Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders of the world.
